The staff and students of the Department of History went on a three day study tour from 12th to 14th February 2019, to see the Pallava architecture at Mandagapattu (மண்டகப்பட்டு), Panamalai (பனமலை), Dalavanur (தளவானூர்), Mamandur (மாமண்டூர்), Kanchipuram (காஞ்சிபுரம்), Vallam (வல்லம்) and Mahabalipuram (மகாபலிபுரம்). Spot lectures were arranged and made at all places visited by eminent archaeologists Dr. V. Vedachalam and Sri K. Sakthivel of the Tamil Nadu State Department of Archaeology.
