Asparagus densiflorus ‘Myersii’
Common Name: Foxtail ferns, ‘Myers’ Asparagus fern,
Asparagus meyeri is an Asparagaceae family. Foxtail fern has dense, bottle brush-like stems that grow more upright. Leaves are leaf-like cladodes. The true leaves are barely visible scales near the base of the cladodes. While the ferns look soft to the touch, they’re quite sharp. It typically grows to 2’ tall with a spread to 3-4’ wide. Each narrow, bushy, plume-like stem (to 2 1/2” wide) reportedly resembles a foxtail. Asparagus ferns are unusual and attractive evergreen flowering plants and have many uses in the landscape and beyond.
